Position Description

Looking to add a sixth member to our mill team at Schutte Lumber Company, a family owned and operated business. Located on Southwest Blvd, a lively and easily accessible area just down the street from the Crossroads art district in downtown Kansas City, Missouri. Offering competitive pay, great benefits; including 401K, health, dental, vision insurance, PTO, and paid holidays, all in a tight knit community of individuals working together to Dream Bigger and Build Better.

Our mill is a fun and safe environment where we all work together to make work easy and be as efficient as possible while still producing the best product we can. Our mill consists of 3 Weinig moulders used for patterns such as sidings and interior mouldings as well as surfacing timbers. We have a straight-line rip saw with an adjustable fence and automatic feed as well as a multiple rip saw which can rip multiple sizes out of a single board and also has automatic feed. We have a 24” planer used for several different things such as glue ups and large timbers. We have a laguna bandsaw that is used to produce all shapes and sizes of brackets/corbels. We have a sliding panel table saw for easy plywood cuts. And last but certainly not least a 50-year-old McDonough resaw/timber sizer. Each member of our mill team has daily responsibilities for the area/machine they have been assigned based on skill and capabilities. With that being said we strive to cross train as much as possible so that every spot can be filled if needed. Mill work can sometimes be monotonous but with the multitude of machines along with the characters that run them, and the diversity of custom orders received on a daily basis we promise you will not be board.

We are currently looking to fill a full-time moulder position. Moulder, mill, or lumber experience would be a great advantage but willing to train the right individual.

· · Setting up and running a Powermat 500 and/or 1500
